ROB GREEN: THE CONFIDENCE TO BE MYSELF
Rob Green completed Inside Track in 2023, and since then has seen exponential growth in his career. He’s supported artists like Daniel Bedingfield, Earth, Wind & Fire, Mahalia, Tom Robinson Band and Elli Ingram , to name a few. Rob has also embarked on his second own UK tour since the programme, and returned to Inside Track in 2024 as a songwriter and mentor for the next cohort.
While celebrating Rob’s career successes, we must also celebrate the powerful story he tells of how this programme transformed his ability to know himself as an artist and songwriter. Before Inside Track, Rob was struggling with a lack of direction as many creators did after the pandemic. Rob states, "I was told many times, directly and indirectly, that dreaming about big impact was unreasonable when you’re gay or mixed race or not from London", and the weight of these barriers added to the struggle of pursuing music in a free and authentic way.
When Rob applied and got selected for Inside Track, the ability to meet “likeminded and diverse creators” was the push he needed to fully realise his inner potential and unleash the true artist within. He states that on this programme “having an encouraging environment alongside like minded, ambitious creatives that were vision first and still commercially minded” allowed his artistry and songwriting to flourish.
“It was clear that the sky is the limit when the environment is right- and this programme empowered me to step outside of the fears of judgement and into the full potential of the work; it’s fundamentally changed everything about my approach”.
Already - one year out - we’re seeing Rob’s newfound ability to be his true self taking over the main stages and airwaves - so we can’t wait to see what’s in store for him!
